Liquid-Applied Roofing Systems provide a seamless waterproof membrane that is easily applied and conforms to any penetration shape. This is ideal when faced with a confined urban space, numerous roof penetrations or restricted use of hot asphalt or heat welding.
3 Reasons to Implement Liquid-Applied Roofing Systems
- High-performance. NYC roofs tend to have a lot of foot traffic. These systems can be applied
over a variety of roof types and offer longevity at an affordable cost. - No Hot Work. Due to NYC restrictions on heat welding on roof applications, liquid-applied systems are a popular choice because they do not require hot work.
- Protective & Cost-Effective. They provide an exceptional bond and a highly protective, seamless surface. In refurbishment situations, liquid systems can provide a significant savings on roof replacement costs.
There is a wide array of specifications to meet all needs, as well as a wide array of finishes available. The applications for these systems are quick and create minimal disruption.
How Do Liquid-Applied Roofing Systems Work?
The coating cures to form a rubber-like elastomeric waterproof membrane, capable of stretching and returning to its original shape without damage. Such coating systems are reinforced with secondary materials such as glass-reinforced plastic to provide additional tensile strength. The coatings can be applied over most traditional roofing materials, including felt, asphalt, bitumen, and concrete.
